Brett Smith – Bail Underwriting Manager

Brett began working with Bail USA in December of 2014. Brett’s roles with the company include large bond approvals, handling consumer and insurance department complaints, collateral releases, and supporting state bail agent associations. Further, Brett coordinates the branding and communication materials on behalf of Bail USA.

Before his career within the bail industry, Brett held marketing and sales positions for a restoration company in Pittsburgh. In 2014, he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in coaching from Thiel College.

In his free time, Brett enjoys being a youth wrestling coach within his community, while spending time golfing and watching Pittsburgh sports.

JL Webber – Bail Underwriting Manager

Joining Bail USA in 2011, JL brings a lengthy resume in management and instructional experience. JL is based out Colorado and assists bail agents with general operational needs, compliance reviews, and supporting state bail agent associations.

Before entering the bail industry, JL spent 27 years in public service management and training positions, along with eight years of managing a private business. He is a graduate of Colorado Mountain College, having also spent time studying at Colorado State University.

Aside from his career, JL enjoys his heritage and life-long passion for horses, hunting, camping, and fly fishing.

Dave Hyatt – Vice President

Dave began his career with the company in 1993 as a bail agent with Pioneer General Insurance Company (“PGIC”), becoming its vice president in 1997. After TMHCC acquired PGIC in 2007, Dave added bail underwriting manager to his title. Dave is particularly active in legislative affairs traveling to support state and national associations in the industry. Additionally, Dave assists bail agents in large bond underwriting, transfer bonds, and agency operational reviews.

Dave’s knowledge proves to be an asset to the company and agents alike. He has conducted educational classes nationwide to judges, court clerks, and district attorneys to enhance bail legislation and the industry’s character. Dave has also been heavily involved in teaching continuing education courses to bail agents at both state and national associations.

Dave resides in Colorado with his wife, Jen, and is most proud of his large family of seven children, 11 grandchildren. and four great-grandchildren. He enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his wife.

Fred Anschultz – Bail Underwriting Manager

Fred joined TMHCC in September of 1996 under the guidance of his brother and mentor, Scott Anschultz. Fred works closely with bail agents approving large bonds and coordinating transfer bonds, securing real property collateral, and supporting state bail associations. He also manages the trust deed collateral for all bonds secured through TMHCC insurance entities.

Throughout his career in the bail industry, Fred has been on the board of directors for PBUS, as well as serving on the board for the California Bail Agents Association. Prior to his career in bail, he spent 25 years in the title insurance industry.

Fred and his wife, Janet are parents of two children and three grandchildren. He enjoys spending time traveling, playing golf, and cheering on his hometown team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
